Soil Science Society
Society of Soil Science, Faculty of agriculture is one of the outstanding societies in the faculty which is connected with Soil Science Society of Sri Lanka (mother society). Our main objectives are to improve the student knowledge regarding the soil and to make the society aware about the importance of the soil with the cooperation of undergraduate students. All the activities are planned in order to achieve these objectives. Annually we are arranging a set of educational activities as well as some special activities which conducted in order to improve the knowledge and skills of our members.
In order to make aware about the opportunities develop in the soil science stream and to make more closer the trends and new findings in soil science, we organize a number of programs.
In addition we annually conduct a seminar series for advanced level agriculture students which is known as "Bimasi Yathra" , mainly focusing the students in rural areas.
Our senior treasurer and other academic staff members are always there with us directing us to achieve final objectives.
